Be That Champion for Change!

Priorities & Issues

  • I will pursue an Independent Forensic Audit of the Corporation of the City of Greater Sudbury
  • I will freeze any approved projects until the true financial status are submitted, explained and rationalized.
  • I will freeze property taxes.
  • I will stop asset maintenance deferrals, it is my priority that we maintain and/or replace basic infrastructures, as it affects our quality of life and sustainability.
  • I will restructure administration, get to know key job descriptions and simplify the City’s Organizational Chart. Incentivize employees.
  • I will review the barriers that exist to attract new businesses, and incentivize economic development.
  • I will make progress data accessible, in real time for citizens or stakeholders engaged with the City.
  • I will review the Ontario Mining Tax and pursue royalties for hosting operations and use of municipal infrastructures. In union there is strength, we should do this via the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM).
  • I will institute quarterly town hall meetings, with rotating sites to be hosted by The Greater Sudbury catchment areas. With the attendance of the Mayor, Council and Chiefs of the restructured city management.
  • I will require councillors to submit a monthly report on their Wards and be available and accessible to their constituents.
  • I will increase hotspots for citizens to access WIFI, and introduce low cost WIFI for seniors and low income families.
